11am-8pm; 5-6 days a week including Saturdays We are currently seeking a House Manager to serve as the direct representative of the property owner's interests and oversee the day to day operations of a private residence located in Highland, Maryland.
The property spans an impressive 10,000 square feet and offers a beautiful environment to manage and maintain.
The House Manager will play a crucial role in managing family and household staff schedules, ensuring the smooth functioning of the home.
Responsibilities include supervising and managing child care, meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, transportation, repairs and maintenance, as well as managing household staff and groundskeepers.
The House Manager will report directly to the homeowners and will be instrumental in maintaining a well-organized and harmonious household environment.
Any hours worked beyond 40 hours in a week will be compensated at a rate of time and a half.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Keep all family members on schedule, maintain calendars, attending to their specific needs as directed Represent the family in a professional, discreet manner at all times Schedule appointments, arrange meetings and other engagements Hire, train, and supervise additional support staff in the home including but not limited to:
nanny(s), housekeeper(s), chef, groundskeeper/maintenance Lead by doing - serve in any home assistance capacity where called upon.
Set an example for house staff and serve as backup to all roles where possible Organize closets, storage spaces, home office Run errands as needed including grocery shopping Provide light to regular housekeeping Provide light to regular laundry and ironing service, wardrobe and closet organizing, and proper care of fine linens Provide light to regular meal preparation Resolve difficulties with staff or vendors in a stress-free manner Act as chauffeur and drive children as needed Research, vet and negotiate, schedule, and supervise all vendors, contractors, and subcontractors Personal assistant to homeowners Oversee operations to ensure the home is always well-kept Ensure inventory of home is kept up to date through purchasing and ordering Maintain records of housing staff, assist with interviewing, and job retention
Qualifications:
At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in home/estate management Training and/or certifications as a House Manager are highly desirable Technical proficiency with smart-home systems and modern technology Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to managing household operations Respectful, discreet, and trustworthy in handling sensitive information Demonstrated ability to work well independently and within a team Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Job Type:
